Thanks Salim.
I think almost anyone can steal a great idea whether on purpose or not on purpose. Therefore I don't really believe in ideas, I believe in the execution of the idea. I've had ideas which I thought were ground breaking just to release I'm not the first one to think of them, however the people who earlier thought of them did not execute the idea well, therefore I plan to execute my ideas better.

Bad story. In terms of M-Pesa, I invented a system similar to M-Pesa in 1994. I published it, such that nobody could patent it. It was given the name: "Pay Unit", not very original, but its basic concept was to use the CPU in the Mobile phone to have the dialogue, and then another CPU on a separate card (SIM). The Separate CPU would then control the Pay Unit's functionality in a disguised way as it would have a limited I/O to do the same.

Therefore - anybody who claim origin of M-Pesa should come to me, first. As it was published, nobody have the right to such a system. Therefore, you are welcome to build your own. However - I guess the name M-Pesa is a brand, so there you have to make your own.

Now, I have good experience in trusting people. But trust is not enough. If you are not willing to share, then you can trust from here to Lokitokitok, and you will still not get anything out of what you are inventing.

You need to trust, and then share the brother part of your revenue with those who make it real together with you.

We invent tons and tons of software, a part of this goes on in our Digital Age Institute (here in Nairobi). Come and see us, if you want to be on the cutting edge.
